All Good Things… 23 Jun 2022 10:10 AM (3 years ago)

Eight years. It seems more like eight seconds.

Eight years ago I got offered this gig and it was, at the risk of hyperbole, a dream come true. Somebody willing to pay me for my words, and the labor of putting those words on digital paper. And having people actually read those words. It was a new experience for me. Yes, I’d enjoyed the fruits of my labors previously. I’d managed to get paid for something I’d created. Several somethings. But those were one-and-dones. Finite transactions. I’d put something together and sell it. I’d retain the rights and I might, hopefully, get to sell it again to a different customer at another date. But a “regular” paycheck? I didn’t know what that was. Then I got this gig. Writing about vampires, werewolves, zombies, Horror movies and books? Talking about things I enjoyed talking about anyway, in other words, only now I’d be getting paid to do it? Hell, yeah!

I’m proud of the work I’ve done here. I took the job seriously, and there were even times when I felt like a real reporter. I got to interview some famous people, pissed off some famous people, got threatened by some sorta famous people. Got to go to some places for free. Got some swag. And met a whole helluva lotta interesting people. I’d say it was a damn good run.

If you haven’t pieced it together yet, this website and its sister sites will soon be “transitioning”. Not going away, but metamorphosing into things different. They won’t be what they are now. What they will be…is yet to be determined. That means, friends, that your intrepid reporter, moi, will be taking a leave of absence. I won’t say goodbye, rather “see you later”, as hopefully you’ll be hearing from me again, somewhere, somewhen. I retain all rights to the stuff I wrote for VAMPIRES.COM, WEREWOLVES.COM, and DARKNESS.COM, and that stuff might reappear at some point at a website under a different name. And you never know, there may come a day when my talents are required once again here at these sites, or somewhere adjacent. Until then, I want to thank you all for your support these past years. Thanks to everyone who’s read, who’s followed, who’s commented, and who’s participated. I hope you’ve all had a good time. I know I did.

That Flocking Flock! 7 Jun 2022 1:05 AM (3 years ago)

Anytime I see somebody wearing a plague doctor’s mask in a work of fiction, and that work of fiction is in any way related to birds, I get a tad nervous. I wouldn’t want to have to litigate somebody. The character of my own creation—both figuratively and perhaps literally (or better to say, perhaps, conceptually and possibly physically, as I may have inadvertently created a tulpa)—The Rook, wears a plague doctor’s mask and a black cloak and hood. You can’t copyright a plague doctor’s mask, and there have been other fictional works to make use of some sort of cult whose members wore them. No copyright infringement there. As long as they don’t have a character who is a supernatural master criminal wearing a plague doctor’s mask and calling himself The Rook, no harm, no foul.

Fortunately THE FLOCK has nothing to do with any of that, nor resembling in the slightest my intellectual property. It does sound really snazzy, though. So what *is* it about? “A mysterious cult, calling themselves ‘The Flock’, has set up camp somewhere in Northern Nevada, leaving behind a trail of missing people and bizarre online recruitment videos encouraging the worship of the demon, ‘Moloch’. A trio of true believers embark on a road trip to locate the cult and warn them of the dangers of demonic worship, but hot on their trail is another group: mercenaries hired by the Church and armed to the teeth, with a personal mission of their own…” Alas there’s no official release date yet.

Tut and Comparable Toys 6 Jun 2022 3:00 AM (3 years ago)

Check out this King Tut action figure I discovered during a recent surfing of the net. It was easy, since the algorithms showed it to me as an inserted ad. Those algorithms do know me well. The devil is in the algorithms, as they say. Well, I don’t know if *they* say it. I say it. They *should* say it, if they don’t. Whoever *they* are. But I digress.

The algorithms are in collusion with the forces of capitalism. They want to get my money. In the case of the King Tut figure, they won’t prove successful. Probably not. The Tut figure is kinda pricey. Pretty, but pricey. I don’t know if I can convince my inner cheapskate to relinquish the funds necessary to purchase the figure. But then I don’t know that I won’t, either. My inner cheapskate is kind of a pushover sometimes. But I digress again.

This got me to thinking. While I wouldn’t change anything about my childhood even if I could. (It’s not a good idea to go messing with the foundation, after all; even if your intent is to improve something, one’s childhood is something of a tower built of playing cards, both good and bad cards. You can move the wrong one and the whole thing comes crashing down.) But it does make me ponder just how much easier it is for a guy like me to get his hands on cool stuff today than it was back then. For one thing, there’s just a lot more of the cool stuff getting made nowadays. Then there’s that whole Internet thing. You don’t even have to go hunting for the cool stuff anymore. The algorithms bring it right to you.

Okay, maybe the Tut figure ain’t *that* pricey…No. It is.

TOP GUN: MAVERICK and the Vampire Lestat 6 Jun 2022 1:55 AM (3 years ago)

I couldn’t figure out how to review the new TOP GUN sequel for this site, or any of the other sites we manage (WEREWOLVES.COM and DARKNESS.COM). I’m honest enough about things that, if I’m gonna keep my receipt from the movie theater and write off the ticket price for my taxes, then I need to use the experience for work. If you review movies professionally, see, you get to write off ticket purchases as work-related expenses. A lot of times studios will send you free passes, but when they don’t, you can just save your receipts, provided you actually do review the movies you go see. But in the case of TOP GUN: MAVERICK—which is freakin’ phenomenal, by the way, and should be experienced up on the big screen by one and sundry—I couldn’t figure out how to make it work. But then I did!

If we’re honest about it, Tom Cruise, in most of his movies, ends up playing Tom Cruise. Typically that’s enough for him to get by, and Tom Cruise fans don’t really expect a lot more out of him. But the guy *can*, when he wants to, when he tries, deliver a good performance. There are two examples from his body of work where he is genuinely *good*. Like, really good. Those two pieces of work are INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE, where he surprised the hell out of everybody, including Anne Rice, with his performance as Lestat, and now TOP GUN: MAVERICK. The dude *can* act. He just doesn’t always find it necessary to do so.

Movie Review: ROOM 237 5 Jun 2022 2:50 AM (3 years ago)

This one will be of interest to fans of Stanley Kubrick’s THE SHINING only. (And if you’re not a fan of Kubrick’s THE SHINING, I’ve honestly got nothing for ya; Stephen King gets a pass, as he has a right to not appreciate it, since Kubrick kinda highjacked King’s story and made it his own. Anybody else, not so much.) And it won’t even appeal to every fan of THE SHINING, only those who enjoy taking the deep dives. Film students, and marks for conspiracy theories, and your basic cinephiles. ROOM 237 explores all the hidden meaning, supposed hidden meaning, and conspiracy theories associated with Kubrick’s film. That Kubrick infused this movie, as he did with all his works, with tons of subtext and symbolism is not a question up for debate. Rather, just how much subtext, and what does the symbolism actually represent. (Is it a commentary on the Holocaust? On the treatment of the American Indian by European colonialists? Both?)

I do think some of these folks who mine the movie for meaning are making more out of some things than is actually there, and in some cases they’re interpreting what was just a joke of Kubrick’s part as something a lot more profound. I also think all the stuff about Kubrick filming the moon landing, with THE SHINING being his secret confession, is a bit of a stretch. But it’s a fun bit of conjecture, even if you don’t take it seriously.

New World Record 5 Jun 2022 1:45 AM (3 years ago)

I expected they’d do it. I never really doubted all the vampire marks would come through. The folks behind the celebration of the anniversary of the publication of DRACULA, held at Whitby, England, had decided to try to break the world record for the most people in one place all dressed like vampires. And they did. 1,369 people showed up in their gothic finest. The previous record was 1,039.

Whenever I encounter some conspiracy-minded troglodyte who insists that all media in this country is biased in favor of them-thar dang liberals—and any news source that ever reports anything remotely negative about Right-wing extremists is displaying this *obvious* bias—I encourage them to seek confirmation of any news story by checking with foreign sources. In this case, though, the BBC could’a done better with their research. Reporting on the breaking of the record, they said: “The Gothic horror tale [DRACULA] was said to have been inspired by Stoker’s trip to Whitby in 1890.” Well, anybody who’s read the book would know that Whitby plays a big part in the story. There is no “said to have been” about it. It’s at Whitby Harbor where the *Demeter* runs aground, bringing Count Dracula to England. This makes it the perfect location to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the publication of the novel.

The Jersey Devil is Named Bruno 3 Jun 2022 10:40 AM (3 years ago)

Some years back my lovely better half and I watched this awful movie called THE 13TH CHILD. A slumming Cliff Robertson (Uncle Ben in the first SPIDER-MAN movie and 80s spokesperson for AT&T) plays a creepy ol’ dude who has a pet tarantula named Bruno. At one point while watching the movie I jokingly said to my wifey, ‘I think Bruno is the Jersey devil!” As it turned out, that was exactly the case. At the climax of the flick the spider turned into the Jersey Devil. As the closing credits began, I nonchalantly said to my mate, “You are aware that I was kidding when I said Bruno was the Jersey devil, right?”. She and I have made a running joke about that scene and that movie ever since.

The Jersey Devil will likely be making an appearance in the new season of WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS, premiering on FX on July 12th. I infer this because the New Jersey Pine Barrens are advertised as a location where one episode will take place, and the Pine Barrens are the home of the Jersey Devil, and we have previously seen werewolves, trolls, witches, ghosts, a siren, etc. on the show, so the Jersey devil will fit right in. If the Jersey Devil as depicted in the show does not maintain a secret identity as a tarantula named Bruno, I will be sorely disappointed.

WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS and the Jersey Devil 3 Jun 2022 4:35 AM (3 years ago)

I’m drawing a conclusion, here. First, read the synopsis for the upcoming fourth season of WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS, set to premiere on FX on July 12: “The newest season will see the group reunited, each returning to their house in Staten Island, which is in a state of complete and total disrepair. With no money to repair their house, the group will have to come up with a way of fixing their creepy manor. Season 4 will see Nandor’s search for love continue, Nadja will look to open a vampire club, a longtime dream of hers. Laszlo will struggle to raise baby Colin, and Guillermo will find himself on an emotional journey that helps him to realize his love for his family, and for others. Season 4 will feature such terrifying locations as a secret supernatural Night Market, the Jersey Pine Barrens, and a wedding altar. The new season will also showcase more strange creatures and surprising guest star appearances.”

Okay. “Strange creatures”? And “the Jersey Pine Barrens”? Every cryptid-lover knows that the Pine Barrens are the home of the legendary Jersey Devil. It seems like a given, then, that our beloved family of vampires will be encountering the Jersey Devil this summer!

Eva Green Defends Johnny Depp 31 May 2022 2:30 AM (3 years ago)

I don’t blame Eva Green as much for the abomination that was DARK SHADOWS as I do Johnny Depp and Tim Burton. Depp and Burton are the ones who claimed to be fans of the series. As fans, it was expected, and should be expected, that they’d do right by the property. They did very much the opposite. They wiped their feet on it, and they should both be ashamed of that. Ms. Green was just there to pick up a paycheck, and her performance was the best thing about that lousy, lousy film.

Anyway, this post isn’t about that movie. I just can’t resist taking a swing at it any opportunity I get. Speaking of taking swings, though…

I don’t know if Johnny Depp abused Amber Heard. Neither do you. We weren’t there. But I do know, and this is unfortunate, that she has been caught in at least *some* lies, and while it doesn’t necessarily follow that if she lied about one thing then she must be lying about everything, it does make *anything* she says suspect in people’s eyes. And that’s a real shame for any person who has ever experienced abuse. One person lying about anything relating to the subject just makes it harder for all the victims who are telling the truth to expect to be believed.

Eva Green for sure thinks Depp is the one who has been maligned. “I have no doubt Johnny will emerge with his good name and wonderful heart revealed to the world, and life will be better than it ever was for him and his family,” she posted.

There’s no defending Depp for DARK SHADOWS, though.

Funko Knows Fear 31 May 2022 1:25 AM (3 years ago)

The Horror genre is well represented by Funko, the coolest company in the world. Their upcoming offerings along those lines already have me reaching for my wallet.

Check out those figures for DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS. I gotta get Zombie Doctor Strange with his cloak of souls.

And check out the Funko Nosferatu. How adorable is that? I want the variant with him wearing his hat but I bet it’s gonna be hella pricey. Expect to see these figures out for Halloween this year. Funko has released a shit-ton of images for their “Funkoween” event. Peruse the offerings here—and start calculating how much of a hit your pocketbook is gonna take this fall. (How do you get a sucker like me to but a figure of a character I already own? Why, you make it glow-in-the-dark, of course! Cha-ching!)

DEMETER Delayed 30 May 2022 2:20 AM (3 years ago)

The ship won’t come sailing into harbor quite as soon as it was expected. THE LAST VOYAGE OF THE DEMETER has been moved from January of next year to August of next year due to concerns about Covid.

No, no really. That is to say, it *has* been delayed. But the delay has nothing to do with ‘Rona. I just got so used to having to report on movies being delayed because of ‘Rona that it’s sorta reflex now. Thank God those days are behind us, and may we not see anything similar again! No, the delay of THE LAST VOYAGE OF THE DEMETER has to do with the production process. And it isn’t that much of a delay, anyway. Just seven months. It’s actually a good thing that it’s been delayed. Wouldn’t we all rather they took their time and got it right rather than rushing things and the quality of the movie suffering?

I’m stoked as hell about this movie. I’m gonna be stoked as hell about anything Dracula-related, and I think this project has the potential to be something truly special. Something on the level, say, of Robert Eggers’s THE LIGHTHOUSE, only with Dracula involved. And that concept ought to get all of you stoked as hell, too.

The Dissing of Horror Continues 30 May 2022 1:15 AM (3 years ago)

DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS has been a monster hit. It will finish its box office run at close to a billion dollars, if it doesn’t exceed it. That’s billion with a B. Yet I’ve seen several “reporters” talking about how it’s a “disappointment”, quick to point out how much money SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME made and implying that the former had to make as much to be counted as successful. What utter horseshit. DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS is already the eleventh most profitable Marvel movie ever, and will soon break into the top ten. Nobody in their right mind can argue that the movie is a disappointment. But see, they can point their fingers and blame Sam Raimi. “It’s too much of a Horror movie,” they are saying. “That’s why it didn’t make any money.” Except for that nearly billion dollar—that’s billion with a B—haul. But why consider such a trivial little thing as reality when you have an agenda to push?

The snooty non-Horror types need to stop. They’re embarrassing themselves. Facts remain facts whether a person wants to believe them or not. I know these days it’s fashionable to just make up your own reality, but still. Numbers don’t lie. And money *always* talks.

Yes, DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS is a Horror movie. It has demons and zombies in it. It is textbook Sam Raimi. And it’s closing in on a box office cume of a billion smackers. Deal with it.

Strange Practical Zombie 29 May 2022 2:10 AM (3 years ago)

As DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS inches closer to a box office haul of a billion dollars (and certain types who don’t base their views of the world on objective reality but prefer to make up their own “facts” insist that it’s a failure because it hasn’t made as much as SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME—seriously, people, the latter is a fluke; 99.999% of movies don’t make that much bank; but then 99.8% don’t top $800 million, either, which DOCTOR STRANGE already has), all the Horror fans continue to celebrate seeing vintage Sam Raimi Horror in a mainstream superhero movie.

You may be forgiven if you thought the zombie Doctor Strange in the movie was all CGI. I assumed it was. As it turns out, though, there were some practical effects involved, too. Kiwi company WETA handled the FX duties with their usual fantastic-ness. Said a spokesperson: “The promise of a spooky Sam Raimi Marvel film had our team pretty jazzed [as it] seemed on the page that this was channeling some of that B-movie horror vibe that Sam was known for, so we suspected we were in for some fun. It felt different from other Marvel projects that we’d been involved with. I recall asking at one point, ‘What are the rules here? Is this allowed in the MCU?’” As we now know, Marvel allowed Raimi to get pretty darn EVIL DEAD with it.

MEN and the Future of the Movies 29 May 2022 1:05 AM (3 years ago)

Make no mistake, MEN is not for everybody. It is strictly for the Horror fans. And it’s not even for all the Horror fans. If you’re the sort who thought HEREDITARY was “boring” you’d absolutely despise MEN. It is more for the rarified palate. And even the fans who really like to get intellectual with their entertainment might find this one a tad too flavorful, or not flavorful enough, depending on how you look at it. In short, MEN is a strange film that will appeal to a niche audience. Which is fine, but how does its success or failure affect the future? Will it help those of us who enjoy such experimental fare in the theater to see more of it, or make it harder for such films to get up on the big screen?

MEN made something like $3.3 million at the box office for its opening weekend. I can’t find any information regarding its budget, and damned if I’m gonna pay IMDB Pro for the figures, but we can assume the budget wasn’t big, relatively speaking. A movie has to make 2½ times its budget to be considered successful. I expect eventually MEN will break even and turn a bit of a profit, if it hasn’t already. So while it’s by no means setting any records, it also isn’t killing any chances for similar films in the future. That’s good news.

Movie Review: MEN 27 May 2022 8:00 PM (3 years ago)

The unreliable narrator approach. Where you aren’t sure if what you’re watching is “real” or not, whether or not it’s actually happening within the reality of the movie or if the narrator character is just hallucinating—or if you, the viewer, are. Lynch can get away with that. Cronenberg to an extent. When anybody else does it, it tends to get on my nerves, and there’s plenty of it in MEN to not enjoy. Fortunately there’s lots of Body Horror to serve as counterbalance.

The acting is impeccable and the film is beautifully filmed, but it suffers from the “all style, no substance” flaw. There *is* substance, though; what’s lacking is story. The movie is all metaphor, all allegory, to its detriment. Story is sacrificed for the sake of symbolism. I give mad props to writer/director Alex Garland for being a true creator and visionary. His earlier films ANNIHILATION and EX MACHINA both flirted with the obscure and sublime, but with MEN he kinda overdoes it. Still, it’s well worth seeing for the visuals and the performances (Rory Kinnear as the Frankenstein Monster was my favorite character on PENNY DREADFUL, and MEN allows him a tour-de-force, a wide canvas upon which to display his imposing talents) even if it could’ve been brought a little more sharply into focus.

Movie Review: DARK WATERS 27 May 2022 2:55 AM (3 years ago)

Not to be confused with DARK WATER, the 2005 movie starring Jennifer Connelly, or with the Japanese movie of the same name, of which the former is a remake, or with the early 90s cartoon miniseries that later birthed a Saturday morning cartoon series, this one is called DARK WATERS, plural. It’s also sometimes marketed as DEAD WATERS, probably to differentiate it from those projects I just mentioned, all having the same name. This one doesn’t have the budget of any of those three other DARK WATER projects, though, not even the animated series. It’s strictly a low-budget affair, but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Horror and miniscule budgets get along just fine.

Filmed on location in Ukraine, DARK WATERS is a damn pretty movie. Unfortunately the script needs a little of the polish they put on the cinematography. It isn’t altogether clear what’s going on in the film, or why. I saw it and felt reasonably confident that I knew what had happened. Then I read the online summarization and realized that the script hadn’t conveyed everything it was supposed to get across to the audience. Primarily the motivation of numerous characters is underdeveloped.

There’s a creepy convent of creepy nuns established on this creepy little island, and they are there to keep a Lovecraftian evil imprisoned in the catacombs beneath the island. This is the part that’s unclear, as the movie goes out of its way to make the order of creepy nuns look like heels who you’d expect to be worshipping the monster rather than keeping it locked away. But the movie is sure pretty to look at.

I’d recommend watching the making-of feature that accompanies the DVD, as this feature is more interesting in a way than the movie itself. Filming in a foreign country, overseen by a corrupt production company, during an attempted coup makes for some good stories after the fact.

Movie Review: NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD 3D: RE-ANIMATION 27 May 2022 1:50 AM (3 years ago)

I don’t turn movies off once I start watching them. I’m that guy who, even if the movie is lousy, has to see it through. I don’t just stop watching.

I turned this one off.

You remember this movie called SHOWGIRLS? Chances are, if you’re a hetero dude, you’ve seen it. All hetero dudes have an inner knuckle-dragger. It’s true. (I can’t speak for any other group as I have no personal experience being a member of that group. It could be that women and LGBT folks have their own inner knuckle-draggers, too. But that’s not germane.) But SHOWGIRLS proved that even a knuckle-dragger can get bored. Watching naked attractive women can indeed become boring after a while. I didn’t turn off SHOWGIRLS the one time I saw it—I almost did, a few times—but I for dang sure have never watched it again. The gratuitous nudity was not enough to hold my interest.

NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD 3D: RE-ANIMATION had one thing going for it. The gimmick. Zombies in 3-D. That’s it. It literally brings nothing else to the table (a slumming Jeffrey Combs notwithstanding). And just like the graphic nudity in SHOWGIRLS, the novelty of watching zombies in 3-D proved insufficient to hold my attention for the entire length of the movie. It would’ve been so cool if there’d been things like a good script and decent acting (a slumming Jeffrey Combs notwithstanding) to go along with the gimmick. Alas, it was not to be.

Revisiting the Classics: THE MANGLER 26 May 2022 1:45 AM (3 years ago)

SALEM’S LOT is to THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE what THE MANGLER is to SALEM’S LOT.

Permit me to explain. Tobe Hooper never created anything that fully measured up to THE TEXAS CHAINSAW (nee CHAIN SAW) MASSACRE. That film was his magnum opus. But the closest he came to it—and he got pretty close—was the SALEM’S LOT television miniseries. (He also did the premiere episode of the TV series FREDDY’S NIGHTMARES that told the origin story of Freddy Krueger, and that was also fairly damn spectacular). So these two projects occupy the close—damn close—second rung on the ladder beneath TCM.

On the rung below *them* would be THE MANGLER. It’s more of a B-movie, sure, but so what? It’s a delicious B-movie. It’s about a possessed vampiric laundry press. How could any self-respecting Horror mark, and in particular a self-respecting vampire mark, not eat that up like ice cream? And, to bring it all full circle, sorta—more like full rhomboid, maybe (and if you need to google a rhomboid, you weren’t paying attention in geometry class—not that anyone could blame you)—THE MANGLER stars Freddy Krueger himself, Robert Englund!

Come to think of it, the Mangler would fit right in at Freddy’s boiler room.

I Lied; One More Post About Jason 25 May 2022 2:40 AM (3 years ago)

It’s for a good cause, so I’m sure you’ll forgive me. You must understand, after my reporting on the fact that the statue of Jason Voorhees, located somewhere on the bottom of Lake Pleasant (in Arizonia), placed there by scuba diver Zachary Nagy, had in fact *not* been removed, as earlier reported, by the local guvment, I learned of the existence of a petition telling the guvment to leave the statue alone. I felt the need, then, to share that petition with all of you, because it needs signatures.

I see no reason why the statue shouldn’t be left alone, provided it poses no threat to the environment, which it apparently does not, and is not a safety concern for boaters or divers, also which it doesn’t seem to be. “…Zachary Nagy recreated the iconic horror character Jason Voorhees in the form of a statue as a way to make for an interesting piece for the Arizona scuba diving community…[they] built the statue from scratch with all environmentally friendly materials, not to mention, they ensured that Jason was at a depth as to not cause any safety issues for those above water [and it would] actually aid in the reproduction of underwater wildlife as well as providing them with shelter.”

Leave Jason alone, guvment jerks!

One Last Post About Jason (For Now) 25 May 2022 1:35 AM (3 years ago)

Lissen, if you hate on the J-man, I hate it for ya. I do. But we just celebrated a Friday the 13th and Jason is much in my thoughts. The FRIDAY THE 13TH movies played a big part in my formative years. I grew up watching Jason. He’s my buddy. He and I go way back. Like, seriously, those movies helped make me the maladjusted misanthrope I am today. And discussions of Jason sure enough do belong on a site devoted to all things vampiric. Jason comes back from the dead; sometimes he comes back as an out-and-out zombie, only a zombie who, unlike most zombies who prefer to use their teeth to kill, makes use of machetes, axes, knives, and anything else he can get his hands on. One could even argue that it is the act of killing that gives Jason his unnatural life.

As we all wait not at all patiently for the next appearance of Jason in a movie, there are other locations where one might find him. The bottom of Lake Pleasant—in Arizonia—for example. Reports that the lousy busybody guvment had removed the statue of Jason placed in the lake by diver Zachary Nagy have turned out to be premature. Said Nagy: “They drained the lake lower than they ever have before…So we ended up having to move him [Jason] like two months in, so everyone thought Jason just disappeared for a little bit…he got down to like twenty feet of water and we’re like okay let’s move him back to sixty…[he’s] at Lake Pleasant, but the location I will not tell you…”
