It's a form of a ritual, first of all there is a prayer to God, then you summon directions (East, South, etc), usually as archangels or elemental kings, then you should summon authority of your master...

I guess everything in Psionics even if it seems really similar, requires constant practice for ages, as even similar in psionic world seems to mean that there is worlds of difference.
